KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue sends punitive action warning to over125,000 non tax filers across the country.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to take ‘penal’ actionagainst more than 125,000 noncompliant individuals who are yet to filereturns for the tax year 2018, reported *The News*.

Individuals who had received notices for non-filing of income tax returnsfor the tax year 2018 are allowed to file their returns with payment ofnominal amount of fine to avoid penalties.

According to the report, the Regional Tax Office (RTO)-II Karachiidentified more than 125,000 individuals, who filed their income taxreturns for tax year 2017, but they couldn’t file their income tax returnsfor tax year 2018.

Last date for returns filing of tax year 2019 is October 31.
