LAHORE -In a surprise, Chaudhry Shujaat speaks strongly in favour of formerclose friend Nawaz Sharif. Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) presidentChaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Saturday that Prime Minister Imran Khanshould use his discretionary powers to let Nawaz Sharif go abroad formedical treatment.
The veteran politician said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shouldbe given all medical facilities. He also pointed out that there isdifference between judicial decisions and executive decisions.
“Nawaz Sharif has not been accused of being an enemy of the country, he hasjust been accused of financial impropriety,” the politician from Gujratsaid, adding that in such matters, the courts should not be put through atesting period, the judiciary should not be involved in these matters, theycould end with dangerous results.
Chaudhry Shujaat’s remarks have come at a time of political upheavel, asformer premier and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had been admitted in hospitalearlier this week after a dramatic fall in platelet counts.
Since then, his health has been a matter of much speculation, with mediaoutlets reporting on Saturday afternoon that Nawaz Sharif had sufferedeither a heart attack or an episode of engina pains.
