NAB launches high profile inquiry against top government bureaucrat

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) launches high profileinquiry against top government bureaucrat.

NAB has launched an inquiry against Sargodha’s ex-commissioner Zafar IqbalSheikh over money laundering allegations.

NAB sources said that Zafar Iqbal was also facing charges of corruption andmisuse of powers. The sources said that the commissioner accumulated 62properties in different cities via ill-gotten money.

The commissioner has also owned an offshore company in London, the sourcesaid and added that he had laundered money to his sons aboard.

The NAB sources said that Zafar Iqbal has failed to give the money trailduring the initial investigations.

Earlier in the day, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summonedPML-N leader Mian Javed Latif on January 1st again in an inquiry aboutassets beyond his means of income.

According to NAB Lahore sources, Javed Latif had been summoned again due toproviding an incomplete record in the inquiry.
