Pakistan seek suspension of India’s UN membership

ISLAMABAD – PTI Leader Dr. Babar Awan has urged the United Nations tosuspend membership of India for its government’s repressive actions againstMuslims and other minorities in the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, he said Article 6 ofChapter 2 of the UN Charter should be invoked against India formaltreatment with minorities.

Babar Awan said Modi government imposed a lockdown in occupied Kashmir andnow a suicide attack has been carried out in the shape of controversialCitizenship Amendment Act.

Emphasizing internal harmony in Pakistan, Babar Awan said every party hasto play a role for it.

He said parliament should legislative instead of serving as merely aplatform of speeches by the members. He said the opposition is notcooperating with the government for legislation.

He said the government will complete its term. He said all economicindicators are positive, and the media should highlight positive image ofthe country.
