ISLAMABAD – In India, authorities have cut cellphone access in parts ofDelhi and thousands of protestors nationwide defied bans on assembly ingrowing anger at a new citizenship law seen as anti-Muslim.
Police and demonstrators clashed in Uttar Pradesh state as security forcesbundled demonstrators including an internationally famous historian ontobuses in Delhi and Bangalore.
In India protest four people were shot dead, dozens injured and hundredsarrested, while authorities have banned gatherings in areas that togetherare home to hundreds of millions of people.
On the other hand, The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, SyedAli Gilani has said that frustrated by the overwhelmingly growing publicparticipation in the resistance movement, India in flagrant violation ofthe international law illegally and immorally, announced to annex occupiedKashmir into the Indian union.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said that to implement theannouncement made on August 5, India put the entire Kashmir region under anindefinite security lockdown and communications blackout.
He said that everything including schools, colleges universities, marketsand mosques was shut and telephone, mobile and internet services weresuspended.
On the other hand, different groups of Pakistanis, Kashmiris and Friends ofKashmir all across the world have launched a campaign on social mediaurging the people to boycott Indian products in protest against continuedlockdown imposed by New Delhi in occupied Kashmir since 5th August, and thediscriminatory attitude meted out to the minorities in India.
The campaigners say that India is getting away with its crimes in occupiedKashmir on the basis of its economy and the world is turning a blind eyedue to its economic interests.
