ISLAMABAD – Pakistan seek yet another good news on the economic front.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that Pakistan met all prioractions and performance criteria under the $6 billion programme.
“The IMF has a $6 billion programme to support Pakistan’s economic reforms.We had a mission there in November for a preliminary assessment of where wethink Pakistan stands.
The programme is on track and we reached a staff-level agreement on what wecall the first review,” said Communications Department Director Gerry Ricesaid in a statement.
The IMF Executive Board would meet with the Pakistani authorities onDecember 19 to consider the staff level report and approval of the secondtranche of about $450 million under the $6 billion Extended Fund Facility(EFF).
