ISLAMABAD – Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan hasapproved a Rs. 700 million budget for the establishment of tourism policein the province.
The approval came on Wednesday during a meeting on tourism promotion in theprovince with CM Khan in the chair.
The meeting also decided to establish the KP Tourism Authority to promotetourism.——————————
Several decisions were taken in this regard, including outsourcing ofPakistan Tourism Development Corporation’s devolved assets, development ofhotels around tourism spots, and release of funds for the KaghanDevelopment Authority.
CM also approved Rs. 500 million for home cities project set to be built atthree scenic tourist spots on an experimental basis.——————————
He also okayed funds for the tourism police, which will have 500 personnelworking to protect tourists across the province.
Another Rs. 500 million was set aside for marketing scenic touristdestinations to attract tourists.
