ISLAMABAD – Pakistani top player admits involvement in the match fixingscandal in Pakistan Super League.
Pakistan left-handed batsman Nasir Jamshed has confessed his act and hasalso pleaded guilty to bribe fellow players in the Pakistan Super Leagueseason 2.
Test batsman who was initially handed over a ten-year ban by the PakistanCricket Board in 2018 plea during a court hearing at Manchester, England onMonday.
Nasir defended himself last week at a pre-hearing but his two fellowinvolved individuals Yousef Anwar, 36, and Mohammed Ijaz, 34 admittedoffering money related preferences to PSL players with the aim ofinitiating them to perform inappropriately by failing to play intensely ina good way.
In February, all three men will be sentenced on a given date.
Investigators told the court a covert cop had uncovered proof by claimingto be an individual of a corrupt betting syndicate.
The efforts of the investigators also led to the disclosure of anendeavored fix in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2016 and a realfix in the PSL initial matches in February 2017.
Nasir was also said to be the man behind the bribery in BPL before he askeddifferent players to spot-fix the opening match between Islamabad Unitedand Peshawar Zalmi.
