ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the provision of thepersonal roof to the low-income people is among the priorities of thegovernment.
Addressing a meeting on Thursday, he said that the country’s economy willstrengthen due to progress in the construction sector.
Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Chairman, provincial chief secretaries andother officials also attended the meeting.
The officers briefed the prime minister about the construction of housesunder the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
Addressing another meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed commitmentto bring to use the unutilized properties worth billions of rupees in aproductive manner for welfare of the people.
He said that the money earned from the unused properties will be spent onwelfare of the masses and improvement of basic facilities such as schools,colleges and hospitals.
The prime minister said that different departments of the federalgovernment are facing losses of billions of rupees on annual basisregardless of the fact that they own these properties.
“A criminal negligence was meted out in the past by not using theseproperties. Strict action will be taken against the officials who will notidentify the unusable properties or create hurdles in their properutilization.”
The prime minister directed the Asset Management Committee, relevantfederal departments and provincial governments that all matters pertainingto identified properties be sorted out in the next one week so that theycould be efficiently used.
