ECP unveils new measures to enhance voters registration across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Razasays Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has always successfully andefficiently performed its responsibilities as per the country’sconstitution.

Addressing a ceremony regarding National Voters Day in Islamabad onThursday, he said we took several steps aimed at further strengthening thecommission to smoothly run the electoral process.

He said the ECP paid special attention towards inclusion of women andunderprivileged segment of the society in all the stages of elections.

He said the ECP also took several measures with regard to creatingawareness amongst people for exercising their right to vote in the bestinterest of the country.

He said the peaceful conduct of 2018 general elections was an importantmilestone.

The Chief Election Commissioner appealed the general public to getthemselves registered in the voters list at the earliest.

Expressing his views, ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad said theElection Commission of Pakistan fulfilled all its obligations in adignified and well organized manner.

He said the ECP has established twenty-four thousand display centers in allthe districts to facilitate the people in verification of their documentsfor vote.

He said the National Voters Day is celebrated to highlight the importanceof vote so that the nation could play its due role in the country’sprogress through ensuring their contribution in the democratic process.
