Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar resigns from important post

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar resigns from importantpost, media report has revealed.

Asad Umar on Wednesday resigned as the chairman of the National AssemblyStanding Committee on Finance. The development took place during a sessionof the committee in parliament and in the wake of Asad Umar’s newappointment. Asad Umar had recently rejoined the federal cabinet as theminister for planning and development.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser accepted the resignation. Umar, beinga federal minister, will no longer be part of the committee.

The committee members unanimously voted in PTI MNA Faizullah Kamoka as thenew chairman. His name had been recommended by PPP information secretary DrNafisa Shah and endorsed by PTI MNA Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dareshak.

“As the chairman of this committee, I will take all its members forwardtogether,” said Kamoka, as he thanked the committee for their vote ofconfidence.
