ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday categoricallyrejected rumours of discontinuation of Rs5000 banknote and requested thegeneral public to pay no heed to such disinformation.
In case of demonetization/discontinuation of any banknote, the SBP willannounce the same well in advance and provide ample time to public tochange the currency under demonetization/discontinuation process.
Since all information is updated on the SBP’s website and its social mediaplatforms, the general public may also check announcements there beforeforwarding the same to their contacts.
