Pakistan FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi lands on an important foriegn policy visit

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reached Sri Lanka ona two day official visit to the country.

Additional Secretary of Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and highofficials from Pakistani High Commission welcomed the Foreign Minister atBandaranaike International Airport Colombo.

During his visit the Foreign Minister will meet the Sri Lankan leadership.

The Foreign Minister will have separate meetings with his newly-appointedSri Lankan counterpart, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

He will also talk to media and will express Pakistan’s stance on regionalsituation and important regional affairs.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan and SriLanka enjoy longstanding and strong bilateral relations.

Talking to media at Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo tonight, hesaid Pakistan and Sri Lanka have always supported each other in diversefields.

The Foreign Minister envisaged better opportunities to be benefitted forboth the countries.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said newly elected President and Prime Minster of SriLanka are Pakistan’s friend. He said he is here with a special letter fromPrime Minister Imran Khan and President of Pakistan for the newly electedleadership of Sri Lanka.
