PM Imran Khan reveals positive development about Pakistani Rupee in coming days

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said national economy isgradually picking up and stabilizing as a result of the government’sinitiatives.

He was addressing signing ceremony of Service Level Agreement betweenPunjab Lang Record Authority and major private commercial banks for rapidagri loans, in Lahore today.

The Prime Minister said the government had to pay ten billion dollars indebt repayment in its first year, which brought rupee under pressure. Hesaid now rupee is gaining and business confidence is improving. He saidstock market is also showing positive signs.

He said the government’s economic initiatives are aimed at uplifting thedowntrodden and reducing disparity between the rich and the poor.

Appreciating the scheme of loan provision to small farmers, Imran Khan said95 percent farmers are in dire need of credit, and this initiative willbring a revolution to their life.

He said the agreement will benefit the farmers and the agriculture sector,which will improve the overall economy of the country.

The Prime Minister said the government is spending about 200 billion rupeesfor welfare of the poor under Ehsas Programme.

He said different schemes and initiatives are also being introduced underthe umbrella of Ehsas Programme, including interest free loan to the youthand financial assistant to the needy.

He said an accurate database is being prepared so that no deserving is leftunattended.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor State Bank Raza Baqir said economicsituation has stabilized owing to hard work of a lot of people under thevision of the Prime Minister.

He said today, exchange rate is not volatile and foreign exchange reservesare increasing. International financial institutions are appreciating thesteps taken by the Pakistan government.

The Governor State Bank said stability is a step toward growth. He saideconomic growth will generate employment opportunities, which will lead toprosperity in the country.

He said the State Bank is working to reduce Income disparity in the countrythrough regularization and cooperation with banks. He said low incomepeople will be provided loans.
