ISLAMABAD – Wajid Zia—head of the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team(JIT)—has been appointed as Director-General of Federal InvestigationAgency (FIA).
Earlier, Wajid Zia was performing duties as IG Railways.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) initially ordered the formation of ajoint investigation team (JIT) to inquire into allegations of moneylaundering, corruption, and contradictory statements by Sharif and hisrelations in a 3–2 split decision on 20 April 2017, with the dissentingjudges ruling that Sharif be disqualified.
