ISLAMABAD – The Department of Excise and Taxation has now established anonline system that will allow people to pay token taxes for vehiclesregistered with the ETO in Islamabad.
Now, people will not have to visit the Excise office physically, as theycan use the online system and pay the tax which will be received by allbranches of the National Bank of Pakistan. In this regard, a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) had been inked between the Excise & Taxation DepartmentIslamabad and the NBP in October.
According to the sources at the ETO, owners living across Pakistan will beable pay token taxes online and the department is working on a frameworkthat will allow people to pay property taxes online as well. Propertytransfer service will also be available online in the coming weeks.
Recently, the government had issued a directive for the general publicasking to pay the outstanding Vehicle Token Tax Islamabad before 30thSeptember without any fines. After this, the Islamabad Traffic Police incollaboration with the Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad startedaction against the people who did not pay token tax.
