Hamza Shahbaz Sharif faces another setback from the Accountability court

LAHORE – Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif facesanother setback from the Accountability court.

An Accountability Court (AC) in Lahore has on Thursday extended Leader ofthe Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz’s judicial remand for14 days.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was produced before thecourt by officials from the Kot Lakhpat Jail after his judicial remandended today. The AC directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)prosecutor to file reference of the money laundering case.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in the National AssemblyShehbaz Sharif’s counsels submitted an application in the court to granthim exemption from appearance on medical grounds in the Ashiana-e-Iqbalscam and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.

It has been stated in the application that Shehbaz Sharif cannot appearbefore the court as he has gone abroad for elder brother Nawaz Sharif andhis own medical treatment. The court summoned reply from the NAB onShehbaz’s application after issuing a notice.
