PWESHAWAR – Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit BRT Project faces another setbackas it has been delayed yet again.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has hinted at further delay in thecompletion of the bus rapid transit (BRT) project. Addressing a pressconference on Wednesday, KP Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai saidthat citizens would be able to travel by BRT buses in the city.
“It was decided in the beginning that there will be no subsidy on theproject,” he said.
The minister said that the project was approved on March 28, 2017. “TheExecutive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) had approvedRs49.43 billion for the project in July 2017. After a change, the Rs 66.43billion cost was approved in November 2018,” he said.
He said that 87 percent work had been completed through 85 percent amount.
