ISLAMABAD – A larger bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) reserved theverdict on the pleas of the government and former president PervezMusharraf to stop the judgment of the special court in the high treasoncase.
The court will announce the reserved verdict on Wednesday.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Aamer Farooqand Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the pleas. The government had filedan application in the Islamabad High Court seeking order to stop theverdict in the high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf.
The plea also demanded suspension of the verdict reserved by theanti-terrorism court. It also requested the IHC to stay the ATC proceedingstill provision of an opportunity to Pervez Musharraf to defend his case.
On November 23, former president Pervez Musharraf had filed a petition inLahore High Court (LHC) challenging the special court’s decision to reserveits verdict in high treason case against him.
In his petition, the former president said that the special court hadreserved the judgment of the case on November 19 without hearing his stance.
