ISLAMABAD – Following the trend of introducing mobile apps, the SupremeCourt of Pakistan has also launched its mobile applicationlink andhelpline as well. The app and helpline are aimed to provide rapid justiceto common people.
In the ceremony held in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Hon’ble ChiefJustice Asif Saeed Khosa inaugurated Mobile App, 1818 Supreme Court callcenter, complete video link in 05 Courts, Research Center and the upgradedWebsite to make it more user-friendly.
Chief Justice said,* “We have landed in the 21st century, the century oftechnology and advancement.”*
Launch of an IT-based facility would enhance the performance and help thelawyers to file pleas without any delay. This would also help in disposingthe cases and decreasing the backlog pressure.
In response to the accusation from people that the courts hear the cases ofpowerful people, he clarified that 3100 judges heard the 3.6 million caseswithout any discrimination. He added,* “all are equal in the eyes of law”*.The establishment of Model trial courts gave great results.
The model courts conducted trials of more than 73000 cases across thecountry in this short time period.
Upgraded Supreme Court website includes user interface improvements foronline case status, cause list search, and judgment search tools.
