RAWALPINDI – Pakistan seek yet another diplomatic victory against India atthe international front as UN Chief endorsed Pakistan’s stance overOccupied Kashmir and made key demand from India.Antonio Guterres, theGeneral Secretary of the United Nations (UN), has called for implementationon the UN resolutions on the Kashmir issue as an amicable way to deal withthe debacle.

Guterres, who is currently in Pakistan on four-day visit, stated thisduring a meeting with Chief of the Armed Staff (COAS) General Qamar JavedBajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Monday, ISPRreported.

Matters pertaining to regional security and mutual interests came underdiscussion during the meeting while the Kashmir dispute and the Afghanpeace process was also underscored.

The visiting official thanked the Army Chief for allowing independent UNobservers to visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir to verify the situation on theground.

The UN chief also lauded the role played by Pakistani law enforcersdeployed with the UN peacekeeping missions across the world, saying thatPakistan had been a great help in bringing and ensuring peace and balancein the world against the scourge of terrorism, said the official statement.

COAS Bajwa on the occasion also said that the armed forces were strivinghard for a stable and peaceful Pakistan and region.
