ISLAMABAD – Following the return of high-profile cricket in the country,Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set sights on staging major ICC events inthe near future.
PCB CEO, Wasim Khan, has said that Pakistan will put forward a strongproposal for hosting at least 1 big global event in the next cycle. Thecurrent cycle of the Future Tours Programme will run until 2023.
We are hopeful of putting a strong case to the ICC for Pakistan hosting atleast 1 if not 2 ICC global events in the next rights cycle.
He said this during a press conference with MCC President, KumarSangakkara, on Thursday at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.——————————
Lauding Sangakkara’s efforts, Khan added that the former Sri Lanka captainand part of the team that got attacked in 2009 has always been a hugeadvocate for Pakistan cricket.
