Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan given Red Carpet welcome and reception by PM Imran Khan upon arrival at Islamabad Airport

ISLAMABAD – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Islamabadon a two-day visit to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and other senior officials received thedistinguished guest at the Noor Khan Airbase.

First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan accompanies the president.

Later on, the Turkish President was accorded Guard of Honour at the PrimeMinister House.

During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Erdogan will haveone-on-one meeting, after which they will co-chair the 6th Session of thePakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in the jointcabinet format.

At the conclusion of the session, a Joint Declaration will be signed. Anumber of important agreements and MoUs are also expected to be signedduring the visit. The two leaders will have a joint press stakeout.

President Erdogan will also address a Joint Session of Parliament ofPakistan.

President Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address thePakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum which brings together leadinginvestors and business-people from both sides.

Turkey supports the cause of self-determination for the people ofIndia-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

The visit of President Erdogan will prove to be another significantmilestone in further deepening and broadening of the flourishingPakistan-Turkey strategic partnership.

Meanwhile, talking to Anadolu Agency Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan MustafaYurdakul said that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Islamabadwould be a historic event and major step towards exemplary bilateral tiesbetween the two brotherly countries.

He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is at a completion level andTurkey is interested in being a part of special economic zones, which willbe established under the project.
