MIRPUR – Capacious programs have been chalked out to commemorate the 36thmartyrdom anniversary of leader of Kashmir Freedom Movement MuhammadMaqbool Butt shaheedlink at bothsides of the line of controllink includingAzad Jammu link Kashmirand IndianlinkoccupiedKashmir today.
The martyrdom anniversary would be observed with renewal of the pledge tocontinue the mission of the departed Kashmiri leader till the achievementof legitimate right of self determination by the Jammulink & Kashmir peoplethrough the liberation of the homeland fromlink long Indianlink yoke, the organizersannounced.
Rallies and demonstrations in alllink small and major townsat both sides of the Line of Control will be hallmark of the day to paytributes to shaheedlink MaqboolButt who was put to gallows by Indialink this day in NewDelhi link Tihar Jaillink in 1984 for his”offense” of raising voice for the liberation of the motherland fromlink Indianlink yoke and demandingthe right of self determination for the people of Jammulink Kashmir state underthe spirit of the international norms and commitments.
At both sides of the LoC in disputed Himalayan state of Jammulink & Kashmir, a completestrike followed by rallies, seminars, conferences and processions will bethe hallmark of the martyrdom day of one of the pioneer leaders of theKashmir freedom struggle Shaheedlink MaqobbolButt who had also served as President of Jammulink Kashmir PlebisictieFront from link 1969 to1974, according to ex President J & K Plebiscite Front Azeem Dutt Advocate.
“Besides, memorandums containing Kashmiris long-standing persistent demandof the early resolutionlink of Kashmir issueunder UN linkresolutions,will be handed over to the nearest UNlink observersmissions in occupied Jammulink Kashmir and Azad Jammulink Kashmir”, Dutt toldAPP here while highlighting the program of observance of the martyrdom dayat either side of the line of controllink.
And according to Jammulink KashmirNational Liberation Front sources, major ceremony to observe the day willbe held in Muzaffarabadlink under theauspices of JKLF. National Students Front and Jammulink Kashmir PlebisicteFront. Similarly rallies will be held in Baghlink, Kotlilink, Khuirattalink, Dadayal in AJKlink aswell as in Karachilink,RawalpindilinkLahore link and Sialkot link to paytributes to the departed soul.

And in the already indefinite curfew-riddled Indianlink occupied Jammulink Kashmir for the lastover five months, a complete strike will be observed on Februarylink 11 to mark the36th martyrdom anniversary of prominent liberation leader, Muhammad MaqboolButt, who was hanged in New Delhilink Tihar Jaillink on that day in 1984.
