Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released details ofassets owned by the political parties in 2018-19.
According to details, out of 125 political parties, only 82 submitted therecords.
As per details submitted, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party owned assetsworth up to Rs. 225.3 million. The PTI submitted expenditures of over Rs508 million during 2018-19.
The opposition’s Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) declared abank balance of Rs 160 million which, according to them, also includedparty funds worth Rs 13.5 million.
According to the affidavit submitted to ECP, the party spent an amount ofRs 20 million as compared to an income of over five million rupees.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML) stated that their expenses were morethan the income generated and they held assets worth over Rs. 80 million.
The party incurred an expense of Rs 200 million as compared to Rs 15.5million income, during the year 2018-19.
The assets declared by Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and MuttahidaQuami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) are up to Rs 49.9 million and Rs 41.9million respectively.
The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) party assets are over 9 million rupees.
