Indian Army one soldier link waskilled and three others were injured on Saturday as the Indian armyviolated ceasefirelink by resortingto unprovoked firing of small arms and mortar shelling along the Line ofControl link in Jammu andKashmir linkPoonch link district.
The soldier, manning a forward post, was killed and three others wereinjured in Degwar sector, they said.Earlier, the Indian defence spokesperson saidPakistan link initiated theunprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling withmortars in the sector around 3.45pm.

The Indian Army mounted an effective retaliation, the spokesperson said.The casualties suffered by the Pakistani troops in the retaliatory actionwas not known immediately, the officials said, adding that the cross-borderfiring between the two sides was underway when last reports were received.
