Chinese Ambassador breaks silence over repatriation of stranded Pakistanis from China

ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador breaks silence over repatriation ofstranded Pakistanis from China.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has said that all PakistaniNationals stranded in China will return back except for those living inWuhan City.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference along withHealth Minister Zafar Mirza in Islamabad on Monday.

Jing said there are a lot of Pakistani Nationals, who are living in Chinaand the Chinese government is in touch with them. The Chinese envoy saidthat at least 371 people have died of coronavirus while the Chinesegovernment is utilizing all resources to contain the epidemic.

He added the government has also cancelled all events and it is in constantcontact with World Health Organization over the matter. “Chinese scientistsare trying to develop coronavirus vaccine and we will be able to counterthe deadly outbreak soon,” he said.

On the occasion, Health Minister Zafar Mirza claimed there is not a singlecase of coronavirus in the country. He said the Chinese government hastaken effective measures to counter the disease as none of the passengersare allowed to exit the airport without proper screening.

“We have not found a single person affected with the deadly virus at anyairport.”

The Pakistani Nationals stuck in China have been urging the government torepatriate them from the virus hit country. Till now, none of the PakistaniNationals living in China have been infected with the disease, howevermeasures are being taken for their safe return.

Coronavirus that spread last month from the Chinese City of Wuhan has sofar claimed more than 300 lives worldwide while thousands have beeninfected with the disease.

In view of the epidemic, the World Health Organization has declared thesituation as an ’emergency’ and called for taking concrete measures tocontain the virus.
