Pakistan and Turkey to make biggest bilateral move in the history of both countries

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Turkey to make biggest bilateral move in thehistory of both countries.

Pakistan is planning to sign an agreement with Turkey allowing Pakistanisto easily acquire Turkish nationality. The agreement will also allowTurkish citizens to do the same.

The bilateral dual nationality agreement was first discussed in a meetingbetween Pakistan’s Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah and Turkish Ambassadorto Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul.

According to reports, Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul proposed the move that wouldstrengthen relations between the two countries. Mustafa Yurdakul said thatthe draft for the proposal is under consideration and an agreement would bereached soon.

If Pakistan and Turkey successfully sign the dual nationality agreement, itwould be the biggest bilateral move in the history of both countries.

During the meeting, the officials discussed ways to strengthen ties byincreasing cooperation in different sectors. Both countries agreed toenhance military cooperation by upgrading equipment and undertaking jointmilitary exercises.

Moreover, the Turkish government, in collaboration with Islamabad Police,will introduce a patrolling force like the Dolphin Force of Punjab Police.

Addressing the media representatives after the meeting, the Turkishambassador revealed that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to visitPakistan on 13th February. A delegation of high-level officials andprominent Turkish businessmen will accompany President Erdogan for a 2-dayvisit.
