NEW DELHI – In Indian Assam state, four blasts took place on the eve ofIndian Republic Day.
With an armed insurgency going on in India’s northeastern states, dozens ofinsurgent groups have challenged New Delhi’s rule in the region and waged aguerrilla war.
While some armed groups fighting Indian troops demand a separate homeland,the others seek regional autonomy.
Meanwhile, a well-known Indian journalist Faye D’Souza has been droppedfrom the list of speakers at a lecture series sponsored by Goa stategovernment because of her stand against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The lecture series would be held from tomorrow at the Kala Academy inPanaji.
