ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is not mulling boycott of T20 International World Cup2021, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan hasrejected the media reports.
Khan has dismissed reports claiming that Pakistan was contemplating theoption of boycotting the 2021 Twenty20 World Cup, scheduled to take placein India, if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused tosend its team to Pakistan for Asia Cup later this year.
While talking to The Hindulink,the PCB Chief Executive made it clear that there is no question of skippingan International Cricket Council (ICC) event.
“It’s absolutely incorrect. What I would like to say is that, we areconcerned about security issues and also there could be issues in attainingvisas.
But we are confident that things will ease out over the period of time,”Wasim was quoted as saying by The Hindu. “This has been completely takenout of context.
Even though we would still want to host the Asia Cup in Pakistan, theAsian Cricket Council needs to decide on what it will do about the matchesinvolving India.”
