PM Imran Khan held important meetings with World leaders on sidelines of the WEF Davos Summit

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan held important meetings with Worldleaders on sidelines of the Davos Summit.

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan held separate meetings with AzerbaijanPresident Ilham Aliyev and PM of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong on the sidelinesof the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

During his meeting with the Singaporean PM, the prime minister invitedSingaporean businessmen and investors to increase their footprint inPakistan. Both the leaders expressed the desire to further deepen thebilateral ties with a focus on increasing trade and investment.

“Both sides also agreed to enhance cooperation at the multilateral fora,” aForeign Office (FO) press release said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan called on President of Azerbaijan Mr. IlhamAliyev at Davos, on the sidelines of WEF Annual Meeting 2020.

In his meeting with the Azerbaijan president, the premier appreciatedAzerbaijan’s valuable contributions including as member of the OIC ContactGroup on Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijanon the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh.

PM also briefed the president on the grave and systematic human rightsviolations in Indian-occupied Kashmir by the Indian government. The twosides reiterated mutual support for each other’s national causes andresolved to further deepen bilateral relation in all fields.

“It was also agreed to maintain frequent bilateral exchanges, including atthe highest level,” the FO said in its statement. President Aliyev alsoinvited the PM to visit Azerbaijan.
