LAHORE – An accountability courtlink on Friday adjourninghearing link of ChaudhrySugar Mills (CSM linklaundering case exempted former premier Muhammad Nawaz Shariflink fromlink personal appearancetill Jan 31.
Accountability Courtlink JudgeAmeer Muhammad Khan conducted the case proceedings, wherein Yousaf Abbas,nephew of Muhammad Nawaz Shariflink, was alsoproduced.
At the start of the proceedings, Nawaz’s counsel submitted his medicalreports and apprised that his client was still undergoing treatment abroad.
He pleaded with the courtlink to exempt him fromlink personal appearanceand stated that the medical reports had also been submitted in the Lahorelink HighCourt link.
In response to a courtlink query,the National Accountability Bureaulinkprosecutorsubmitted that the reference was in final stages and would soon be filed.
Subsequently, the courtlink adjourned theproceedings till Jan 31 and extended judicial remand of accused YousafAbbas.
The court link alsoexempted from link personalappearance Nawaz Shariflink till Jan 31and also sought his further medical reports on the next datelink of hearinglink.
A pleader, Salman Sarwar, on behalf of Maryam Nawazlink wasalso present during the proceedings.
It is pertinent to mention here that the courtlink had exempted NawazSharif link fromlink personal appearancefor a period of four weeks initially whereas Maryam Nawazlink wasalso exempted till the filing of reference in the case.
The Sharif family link hadbeen accused of using the CSMlink for moneylink laundering andillegal transfer of its shares.
