ISLAMABAD – Pakistan strongly hits back at the irresponsible statement ofthe Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.

Pakistan has condemned the highly irresponsible remarks made by IndianChief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat at Raisina Dialogue 2020,raising inter alia the usual Indian bogey of ‘terrorism’, making therepugnant suggestion of putting young Kashmiri children in‘de-radicalization camps’, and seeking to place Pakistan on the FATFblacklist.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that theseremarks are reflective of the extremist mindset and bankrupt thinking thathave evidently also permeated the state institutions of India.

“As a perpetrator of unabated state-terrorism in the Indian Occupied Jammu& Kashmir (IOJ&K), India is in no position to pontificate on the issue ofterrorism.

The IOJ&K has already been turned into the world’s largest prison camp witheight million Kashmiris incarcerated there since August 5, 2019.

“With over 900,000 Indian occupation forces perpetrating egregiousviolations of human rights; draconian laws such as Armed Forces SpecialPowers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) enabling them completeimpunity; and over 13,000 young Kashmiri boys abducted from their homes andaway from their families, Gen. Rawat’s talk of “deradicalization camps” forKashmiri children is simply despicable. It cannot be condemned enough.”

She said that Gen Rawat’s remarks on FATF are further proof of India’srepeated attempts to politicize FATF’s technical proceedings for advancingits narrow, partisan objectives.

“Pakistan has consistently sensitized the world community about India’smalicious campaign in this regard. We expect that the FATF members wouldreject these Indian machinations.
