PM Imran Khan held high profile meeting in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says development of merged areas ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa and bringing them at par with other parts of the countryis government’s top priority.

He was chairing a review meeting on the issues related to energy, highereducation, health, and development projects of merged areas of KhyberPakhtunkhwa in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said some elements are trying to disturb peace of theseareas, but we have to defeat such elements by keeping the people of theseareas informed about the development process.

He was apprised that the required funding from the Ministry of Finance hasbeen ensured for development projects in the merged areas.

Regarding efforts to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people ofthe merged areas, the Prime Minister was informed that the Ministry ofEnergy is paying special attention on strengthening the transmissioninfrastructure in these areas.

Talking about cleanliness in these areas, he directed authorities toformulate a national policy in collaboration with provincial governmentsfor solid waste management.

Imran Khan directed to complete the clean drinking water projects in theseareas on priority basis.

He also agreed with the proposal of provincial government that ongoingsixteen development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be completed atthe earliest.
