ISLAMABAD: Pakistani PM Imran Khan makes important announcement overlifting the lockdown across country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said Monday that the imposed lockdown will belifted slowing across the country as Pakistan’s coronavirus cases surpassedthe 20,000 mark.
“We are doing [lifting lockodwn] because the people are suffering andlosing their jobs. But if SOPs are not followed we fear that it mightspread rapidly and we will be forced to move towards a lockdown onceagain,” the premier warned.
Talking about the Corona Tiger Force, the premier said that the governmentwill spread awareness regarding precautionary measures necessary to curbthe virus.
“The Tiger Force will not be paid, they will do jihad [againstcoronavirus],” he said, adding that the team will set up help desks inunion council offices and help register the needy.
“All the big problems that we have today have emerged from lockdown,” hesaid, adding: “This has impacted local vendors and the white-collar workersas well.”
