Despite coronavirus pandemic, Indian military ceasefire violations at LoC martyrs Pakistani woman

ISLAMABAD – Despite coronavirus pandemic, Indian military ceasefireviolations at LoC martyrs Pakistani woman.

A woman embraced martyrdom while an eight-year-old girl sustained injurieswhen Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control(LoC), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

The military’s media wing said that the Indian soldiers deliberatelytargeted the civilian population in Jandrot and Khuiratta sectors.

“Due to indiscriminate fire of automatics and rockets, a 36 years oldwoman, Yasmeen, resident of Red village embraced shahadat [martyrdom] whilean 8 years old innocent girl, Adeeba Zaheer, resident of Mohra Chattarvillage sustained serious injuries,” it added.

The injured child was immediately evacuated and provided medical treatment.

In another ceasefire violation earlier this month, Indian troops resortedto firing in the Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot sectors causing seriousinjuries to six civilians, including a 15-year-old girl

In a second incident, Indian troops targeted a village in the Nikial sectorof the LoC.

The incidence of ceasefire violations along the LoC have seen an upsurge inrecent months as tensions continue to soar between the two nuclear-armedneighbours.
