This year’s Asia Cup was scheduled to take place in September ahead of theWorld T20. However, the recent turn of events has nearly made it impossibleto host the tournament.

Though it doesn’t seem right to be talking about cricket schedules as ofnow, we can safely assume that the Asia Cup isn’t a possibility. The extentof the impact of the COVID-19 is unknown as of now.
He also mentioned the job losses across the sector and fragile economies ofcricket boards as some of the reasons behind his analysis.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials had a similar approach to thematter. When contacted, an official said he wasn’t sure as to when the nextAsian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting will take place to finalize the detailsrelated to Asia Cup.
This year, Pakistan is set to host the tournament. Due to the World T20scheduled later this year, the event will be played in the shorter format.
However, due to the prevailing situation amid the COVID-19 crisis, there isno ACC meeting planned in the near future, putting the tournament injeopardy.
