ISLAMABAD – Coronavirus pandemic has been rapidly spreading around theworld hitting the tally up to 806,080 cases overall till the date (31 March2020 at 08:00 PM). In Pakistan, the patient count has been increasingspeedily while making it difficult for the Government of Pakistan to copeup with the situation effectively.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan initially addressed the nationwith the emphasis on the idea of no need of declaring lockdown but lateron, the provincial governments announced 14-day closure following theworsening situation due to the spread of the virus.

The Tiger Force members will be delivering food to the needy people at thedoorstep and will be engaged in other relief activities for bettermanagement and to assist government operations. The registration of thevolunteers has started from today, 31st of March, 2020 via Citizen Portal.

Additionally, the PM has also announced the establishment of “Corona ReliefFund” to financially support deprived people. As far as the condition of medical staff in different hospitals isconcerned, the doctors are completely stressed out and troubled to treatthe patients as they don’t have proper protection kits. They have beenpleading to the Government for the delivery of protective gear at theearliest to ensure the safety of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.

China has sent tonnes of protective gear along with the testing kits andother items to Pakistan on 27th March 2020 for assistance.
