ISLAMABAD – Pakistan on Wednesday categorically rejected Indian Ministry ofExternal Affairs’ irresponsible remarks on the joint statement issued byPakistan and China after the visit of President Dr Arif Alvi to China.
“The remarks made by the Spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of ExternalAffairs, calling Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir an “integral part” ofIndia, are a clear violation of the relevant United Nations SecurityCouncil Resolutions.
“Jammu and Kashmir is the oldest unresolved dispute on the agenda of the UNSecurity Council and the international community has recognized it as suchfor over seven decades,” Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said ina statement issued here.
The spokesperson said India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5,2019, attempting to change the internationally recognized “disputed” statusof IOJ&K and to alter its demographic structure, had been rejected by theKashmiris, by Pakistan, and by the international community.
Indian oppression perpetrated through over 900,000 occupation troops hadnot succeeded in subjugating the Kashmiri people or in breaking their will, she added.
She said the continuing lockdown, incarceration of Kashmiri leadership, illegal detentions of thousands of young Kashmiris, communication blockadeand media blackout in IOJ&K, despite international community’s seriousconcerns, were a reflection of Indian obstinacy and disrespect forinternational law and human rights.
Pakistan and the international community would continue raising their voicefor the Kashmiri people until the realization of their inalienable right toself-determination as per the United Nations Charter and the relevant UNSCResolutions.
“Neither the Kashmiris nor Pakistan will accept India’s illegal occupationof IOJ&K,” she added.
“Pakistan also categorically rejects the Indian propaganda against ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is another manifestation ofIndia’s desperate attempts to falsify facts and mislead the worldcommunity,” the statement concluded.
