Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday directed allconcerned parties to “gear up preparations” to tackle coronavirus(COVID-19), a day after the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared thevirus as pandemic.

Gigit Baltistan reported its third case of the novel coronavirus onThursday, taking the nation-wide tally to 21 a day after the regionconfirmed its second case, according to government spokesperson FaizullahFiraq.
The spokesperson said the patient — a 31-year-old resident of Shigardistrict — had a travel history of Iran. The patient was under treatment atthe Skardu hospital, Firaq added.
