ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the worldcommunity to take notice of gross human and religious rights’ violations ofminorities, especially Muslims, in India.
Talking to media in Multan today (Sunday), he said the way ordinary Muslimswere targeted and their properties ransacked in New Delhi, while the policeremained inactive, is a dangerous beginning which if not checked couldengulf the whole of India.
He said attacks are also being held against Christians and other minoritiesin India as well.
The Minister thanked the Muslims of Bangladesh who openly demonstrated todemand the cancellation of Indian delegation visit to their country inresponse to massacre of Muslims in New Delhi.
He also expressed gratitude to the Muslims of Afghanistan who helddemonstrations in Kabul and Kandahar to denounce the killings of Muslims inIndia.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also eulogized the role of Iranian leadership and itsSupreme Leader in expressing solidarity with Indian Muslims.
Referring to the visit of OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy forKashmir, the Foreign Minister said all facts were placed before the specialenvoy regarding situation in Occupied Kashmir.
He said the Envoy will present a detailed report to the OIC SecretaryGeneral for further course of action.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said people and government of Pakistan fully stand bytheir Kashmiri brethren who are not alone in their just struggle for rightto self-determination.
Addressing Muslims of India, he said whole of Ummah stands behind you andfeels the grief and pain you are suffering.
On a question regarding situation in Afghanistan, he said intra Afghandialogue will lead to talks to chart the course of their future direction.
