ISLAMABAD – Former Pakistan Test cricketer, Tanvir Ahmed has said thatFawad Rana might sell Lahore Qalandars after repeatedly coming up withdismal performances season after season.
If things don’t change, Rana Fawad might sell his franchise to someoneelse. The franchise spends a lot of money every year and conductsnation-wide talent hunt trials but the team disappoints on the field everyseason.
Lahore Qalandars have only won one match out of the 5 they have played thisseason. The franchise has finished last in all the previous seasons and asit looks, they’ll do exactly that this year as well.——————————
The former cricketer also questioned the reason behind Lahore’s talent huntprograms and trials throughout the year, saying that there’s no point ifit’s not yielding good results.
While Tanvir might be right about the poor performances of the team, hiscomments regarding the talent hunt programs aren’t exactly true. Lahore hasgiven Pakistan cricket a number of players in the form of Fakhar Zaman,Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and the franchise plays a huge role in thegrooming and exposure of these players.——————————
In recent years, a number of Pakistani cricketers have trained in Australiaalongside their domestic teams. Their latest find, Dilbar Hussain has alsoplayed the Big Bash League (BBL), when he came in as a replacement forHaris Rauf in Melbourne Stars’ squad.
