In an unusual development, Russian Presidential envoy raised concerns over the Afghanistan peace deal

DOHA – Russian linkpresidentialenvoy for Afghanistanlink Zamir Kabulovtold Sputnik on Saturday that the peace agreementlink between the UnitedStates link andthe Taliban link maylink not go very smooth, yetthe intra-Afghan talks that follow the signing of the deal were veryimportant.

He stated that while the agreements must be honored it was unlikely thateverything would go smoothly.

“We must be ready for this and be aware that alllink of it will not moveforward easily, but for us, it is important to start moving. Following thesigning of the US-Taliban agreementlink we will be ableto switch to a more important part, [that is] the launch of intra-Afghannegotiations,” Kabulov said, Sputnik has reported.

The envoy told Sputnik that the peace deal must include a provision onbeginning the talks within 10 days since the inking.

“I would like to believe that the dialogue will begin, as it is the mostimportant part of the peace process for us. A far as know fromlink both the US and theTaliban link, it will beput in in their joint document that such negotiations must begin in 10 daysafter the agreementlink signing, say onMarch link 9,” Kabulovsaid.

At the same link time, heexpressed skepticism if said provision will be implemented.

“If we are being realistic, then I have doubts that they will be able tomake it in 10 days, because there are many other issues, [such as]releasing prisoners, detainees fromlink both sides,” Kabilovadded.
