Pakistan officially responds over 3 billion defence deal between India and United States

*ISLAMABAD – **Pakistan officially responds over $3 billion defence dealbetween India and United States.*

*Pakistan on Thursday welcomed the mediation offer from US President DonaldTrump on Kashmir issue.*

Addressing a weekly media briefing, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson AishaFarooqui reiterated a pleasant change could be witnessed in the entireregion if the issue is resolved through peaceful negotiations.

Expressing Pakistan’s concern over arms deal between the US and India, theFO spokesperson maintained that the arms deal will disturb balance of powerin the region, adding that arms race in the region would intensify conflictin the region.

It is noteworthy that the US president said that India will buy $3 billionworth of military equipment, including attack helicopters, as the twocountries deepen defence and commercial ties.

Referring the US-Taliban peace deal, Aisha Farooqui said that ForeignMinister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi will represent Pakistan during signingof the agreement in Doha.

Aisha Farooqui said that federal and provincial governments are workingtogether to tackle novel coronavirus in Pakistan and concerned authoritiesare in continuous contact with Iranian leadership in this regard.
