Drastic rise in the prices of the LPG in Pakistan due Pak Iran border closure

KARACHI: Drastic rise in the prices of the LPG in Pakistan due Pak Iranborder closure.

All Pakistan liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distributors increased onWednesday the price of LPG by Rs50 per kilogram amid closure of Pak-Iranborder due to coronavirus outbreak.

According to details, the LPG price was increased by 50 per kg to Rs180 perkg, while the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder surged by Rs500 toRs2,680.

LPG distributors’ spokesperson Irfan Khokhar said the prices had increasedbecause of closure of Pak-Iran border amid coronavirus threat from Iran.

Last month, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had decreased theprice of LPG by Rs111 per cylinder for the month of February.

All activities at Pak-Iran border remained suspended for the fourthconsecutive day on Wednesday amid the coronavirus outbreak in Iran andreported casualties there.
