ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says US President DonaldTrump’s offer of mediation on Kashmir in the perspective of the criticalsituation prevailing in the Indian occupied valley is negation of NewDelhi’s narrative.
In a statement on Wednesday, he said the US President has discussed Kashmirissue with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as promised with PrimeMinister Imran Khan.
The Foreign Minister said the US President categorically stated in presenceof a big public gathering that Imran Khan is his friend and Pakistan hasdefeated terrorism pursuing the best strategy.
He said the Indian media tried to use President Trump’s press conferencefor its own objectives but the US President appreciated Pakistan’s effortsagainst terrorism.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has been stating for a long time thatMuslims have been facing insecurity in India.
He said more than ten people have been killed in riots in New Delhi duringthe last two days. He said buildings, petrol pumps and business centershave been set alight.
The Foreign Minister urged the world to take notice of this situation.
A meeting, chaired by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabadtoday, decided to apprise the world about better peace and stability in thecountry under a multi-faceted media strategy.
It also decided to highlight Pakistan’s positive role in the region and theworld.
Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Minister said the world should beinformed about the better opportunities emerging in the diplomatic,political, economic and tourist perspectives.
