KARACHI – Pakistan International Airlines Sunday announced to suspend itsflight operation to and from China until March 15 due to the novalCoronavirus spread.
The fatal disease which first erupted in China in December last year hasclaimed 2441 lives so far while number of cases has surged to 78,000 in thecountry.
PIA spokesperson said that a decision about extending or ending the banwill be taken in March.
Two flight PK-852 and PK-853 were operated to and From Beijing via Tokyo.
The decision comes amid the spread of the deadly virus to anotherneighbouring country, Iran, where death toll rose to eight since theinfection was reported on Wednesday this week.
Pakistan has closed its border with Iran, imposing a travel ban onnetizens, including pilgrims, in order prevent the spread of the new virus.
