RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa’s message for thenation on the completion of three years of Operation “Radd ul Fasaad”.
Marking the completion of three years of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad(Elimination of Discord), Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa said onSaturday that the army is capable of thwarting any threats to the nationalsecurity.
In a series of tweets today, Director General Inter-Services PublicRelations (ISPR) Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar noted that the operation, which isa part of the war against terrorism, was initiated on this day in 2017.
He said that the operation, which consolidated the gains of the pastoperations, indiscriminately eliminated the threat of terrorism and ensuredthe security of Pakistan’s borders.
Delivering the army chief’s message, the DG ISPR quoted him as saying:“Gains of 2 decades of WOT (war on terror) shall be consolidated to achieveenduring peace and stability both for Pakistan and the region. Army isaware and capable of thwarting all threats to security amd sovereignty ofPakistan, irrespective of the cost.”
Attributing the success to the security forces, the army’s spokesman saidthat the journey from terrorism to tourism was “backed by the entire nationand achieved unparalleled success at a monumental cost paid in men andmaterial.
“[We pay] tribute to our martyrs, our real heroes, our pride. We alsosalute our resilient nation in defeating extremists’ ideology and forunflinching support to the armed forces.”
