Pakistani and Egyptian air-defense forces commenced a joint militaryexercise on Wednesday.
The Guardian of the Sky -1 exercise is held to improve theexperience-sharing and capacities of two countries’ armed forces in thecontext of cordial relations between Pakistan and Egypt, stated Egyptianarmed forces’ spokesman Col. Tamer al-Refai.
Refai stressed the exercise will also develop the interoperability of theEgyptian and Pakistani armed forces, noting that it will simulate differentscenarios including launching joint attacks on enemy forces and protectingVIP figures who could be targeted.
