The Ministry of Finance has proposed an allocation of Rs900 billion fordevelopment projects in the upcoming federal budget; Rs250 billion morethan the previous year.
Over Rs99 billion have been earmarked for the water projects; Rs103 billionfor energy projects, while Rs27 billion have been allocated for theimprovement of health infrastructure.
Similarly, it has suggested reserving Rs75 billion for SDGs; Rs54 billionfor the erstwhile FATA; Rs44 billion for special zones of the country;Rs265 billion for the transport and communication sector; Rs40 billion and93 crore for physical planning and housing; Rs38 billion for highereducation; Rs30 billion for science and technology; Rs12 billion for foodand agriculture and Rs3 billion for industries.
The proposals will be presented before Planning Coordination Committeetoday (Friday) while the National Economic Council will approve the budgetlink in its meeting which will be chairedby Prime Minister Imran Khan.
